On Saturday, April 4, 2009, FTNP completed a river clean-up within the park. With the help of many wonderful volunteers we were able to complete a successful effort.

There were eleven 50 gallon bags of trash, a construction barrel, a wooden ladder, a wooden slotted door with hinge, a tire, a 5 gallon bucket, a quarter panel from a vehicle, and various wooden debris.

    Of these 11 bags, 3 were recyclable bottles or cans!

    Of the 8 bags left, 80% of the litter was Styrofoam products!

Amazingly enough, Styrofoam DOES NOT biodegrade,ever!!!!!

Thank you again to all of the volunteers who were able to help with the river clean-up and to all of the community members that have picked up litter on their walks.
